I had no idea what I was in for when I moved to San Francisco in the summer of 2010. Despite an economy that was struggling to emerge from recession, there were rumblings that the land of startups and tech behemoths was ripe for a hiring surge; and as a new grad from Denver with a bachelor’s in marketing, I placed all of my chips on the city by the Bay.

Eager to put my degree to work, I took an internship at one of the top boutique PR agencies in the world MSR Communications, where I received a masterclass in storytelling and media relations that evolved into a years-long adventure launching products, putting out fires, and building recognition for a mix of consumer and high-tech B2B brands including The Myers-Briggs Company, Dictionary.com, AVG Antivirus, Bluewolf, Infochimps, IBM’s Compose (previously MongoHQ), and GridGain.

With a mission to continue learning, I made the move to LEWIS, where I had the opportunity to apply my experience to global campaigns and deepen my domain in enterprise technology. As Account Manager I ran point for innovative companies like Digital Realty, Infosys, Enlighted, and AOptix (acquired by Anova Technologies).

Before heading off on my own, I made the journey in-house to the video analytics startup Prism (acquired by Ignite Prism). As Director of Marketing I worked closely with the product team to launch two mobile applications and a myriad of new features; in addition to managing the company presence and driving leads at national conferences, nurturing marketing partnerships with brands like Microsoft and Intel, and generating feature coverage in CNNMoney, Forbes, and the Los Angeles Times.

In 2017 I set off to consult and provide product marketing support to a handful of companies that caught my interest. Since then I’ve helped to launch businesses, refined product positions, lived in Europe for a year (¡Viva Madrid!), and pursued an MBA from Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (Class of 2020).
